This program is released into the public domain. Please distribute
freely without modification of any kind. IBM is a registered
trademark of International Business Machines, Inc.
This test pattern generator was originally developed for users
of Inline products including their computer interfaces, video
decoders, distribution amplifiers, video and matrix switchers. This
test program needs no setup or special installation. Simply copy
the files to a diskette or directory on your hard disk.
To start the program, change to the directory where the files
are located and type "INLINE" and hit the "Return" key. You will
see a menu of test pattern choices. To select, press the letter
corresponding to the pattern you would like to use. Pressing the
letter a second time will invert the pattern. To change patterns,
you simply press another letter. A large square will appear lower
left to indicate that the pattern is loading. Note that there is
always a small square located in the upper right quadrant as a
reference point. Pressing the same letter multiple times on some
patterns will cycle through the color palette. Press the escape key
to exit theprogram.
This program is useful for testing the output of any computer
driven display device, including CGA, HGC, MCGA, EGA, VGA, and SVGA
cards. It will also work with portable displays including LCD's. It
is especially useful when setting up a display system consisting of
a computer driving a projection television or other external
display (such as an LCD panel) using a computer interface device.
